The Waste Connections Canada/Friends of The Mer Bleue
$2,000 Scholarship for 2021

The Covid-19 pandemic, as an offshoot of the worldwide disruption, is affecting the education world. We anticipate the pandemic will negatively impact a student’s ability to obtain summer jobs and, as a result, could affect a student’s ability to fund his/her future education.  Because of this we believe the Waste Connections Canada/Friends of The Mer Blue $2,000 Scholarship is even more important at this time.

For the 2020-2021 school year we are offering this $2,000 bursary to a candidate, meeting the criteria, selected by his/her school. (see Eligible Schools)

Once selected the school then must advise Mr. Ray Vetter of The Friends of Mer Bleue of the recipient’s name, address and school and submit it along with the completed check list.

The established payment process will be followed. The Friends of Mer Bleue sends the funds to the school board and the board then sends the recipient the actual monies.

Normally a certificate, acknowledging the award, is provided at the graduation exercises. Since it is unlikely graduation exercises will take place this spring the Friends of The Mer Bleue will mail the certificate to the recipient along with a congratulatory letter.

We thank the educators who are working under these exceedingly difficult circumstances and encourage them to go the extra step required to select a recipient of this significant bursary.
